The announcement comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Buffy is getting a Hollywood reboot, with Sarah Michelle Gellar said to be playing a role in the new show.
Marsters posted a video on his Instagram feed where he remained mum on whether or not Spike will be back.
“I’m sorry if you were coming here hoping for some news, but in the interest of having the project be the best it can be, it’s best that I keep my mouth shut right now," Marsters said, “so I’m gonna do that… I’m very excited that we’re gonna learn more about the journey of Buffy Summers and how she saves the world because I think the world needs her.
“I’m gonna do my part,” he added, “by doing nothing right now.”
The vampires will all be participating in panels, photo ops and autograph sessions at select times throughout the festival.
Other announced guests for this year’s event include Doctor Who cast members Catherine Tate, Jodie Whitaker and Mandip Gill, Daredevil star Charlie Cox, Bitsie Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin from Superman & Lois, High School Musical’s Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel, Oscar winner Marisa Tomei, Alicia Silvertone and comic book legend Frank Miller.
