PHILADELPHIA -- Authorities say a Chinese circus trapeze artist is in stable condition after a falling into the crowd during a performance in Philadelphia.
Police say the performer fell feet during the UniverSoul Circus show in West Philadelphia on Saturday evening.
A police spokeswoman says the 19-year-old performer fell about nine meters from his apparatus and landed in the crowd. He was taken to a nearby hospital.
A witness told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the performer bounced off a safety net then landed among the spectators.
UniverSoul identified the performer as Chenglong Wu of the Wuhan Flying Trapeze act of China. Show officials said he was expected to make a full recovery from a lower back injury.
No injuries were reported to anyone in the crowd.
