Winnipeg police have arrested two people after an altercation broke out on a transit bus.

Police were called to Ellice Avenue and Valour Road at 11:37 p.m. Friday for reports of a robbery.

Officers learned a 54-year-old man got into an argument with another man and woman while on the bus. All three got off at the same stop, and police said the 54-year-old man was assaulted and had his personal property taken.

The man was injured but did not want medical attention.

The two people were tracked to the 1000 block of Spruce Street and arrested. Police said the man’s belongings were found during the arrest.

A 38-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were each charged with robbery. The man was detained in custody, and the woman was released on an undertaking.

The charges haven’t been tested in court.
