The trailer for a movie shot in Winnipeg about the JFK assassination has been released. “November 1963,” starring John Travolta, was shot in Winnipeg in 2025. An official trailer for the film was released on Friday. The film, directed by Academy Award nominee Roland Joffé (“The Killing Fields,” “The Mission”) focuses on the Mafia’s alleged involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963. The screenplay was written by Nicholas Celozzi, the nephew of Chicago Outfit boss Sam Giancana. In addition to Travolta, the film stars Robert Carlyle, Dermot Mulroney and Mandy Patinkin. Several neighbourhoods in Winnipeg, including Norwood Flats, the University of Manitoba campus, and the Exchange District, were transformed into 1960s Dallas for filming. Filming also took place in Birds Hill Provincial Park, which stood in for the Grassy Knoll. The film will be released in theatres on Nov. 20.
