The former head of a Beausejour funeral home faces 25 counts of fraud after RCMP investigated financial irregularities at Russell’s Funeral Home between 2003 and 2009.
Harvey Giesbrecht, 53, faces 18 counts of fraud under $5,000 and seven counts of fraud over $5,000. Police allege Giesbrecht took payments for prearranged funerals but didn’t use the money for the intended purpose.
Giesbrecht now lives in Alberta, said police. He received a summons on Sept. 16 and is expected to appear in court on Oct. 22.
