Crews sanding roads after weekend snowstorm; drivers reminded to allow extra time

The city deployed 130 pieces of equipment Saturday, including snow plows, salting and sanding trucks.

Winnipeg says it has its salt and sand truck out on the road, but it's hoping drivers remember to take extra time to allow for the conditions.

The city says it had about 30 pieces of heavy equipment on city streets over the weekend.

It says it planned to plow sidewalks by late yesterday, but that pedestrians still needed to wear proper winter footwear.
