Colleen Bready’s Forecast: The return of sunshine

Published:

Colleen Bready has your current conditions and updated weather forecast for April 23, 2025.

After a blast of wintry weather graced parts of southwestern Manitoba over the last couple of days, wet and heavy snow tapered off early Wednesday in the region.

Rain in Winnipeg Tuesday night turned to a light drizzle and mist overnight before drying up Wednesday morning. The afternoon ahead will be mainly cloudy, but at least some late-day clearing is possible.

That said, Environment and Climate Change Canada said some residual precipitation is possible today as a surface low over southern Manitoba weakens and moves into Ontario.

Rain in northwestern Ontario should end early this afternoon, but there will still be a chance of showers as the day progresses.

Meanwhile, a surface ridge of high pressure stretching from the north across Hudson Bay and central Manitoba will bring sunshine to central and northeastern communities on Wednesday.

The sky will clear over southern Manitoba this evening ahead of fog patches expected to develop overnight in Winnipeg and across the southeast.

Thursday will kick off four days of beautiful weather across southern Manitoba.

Look for sunshine or a mix of sun and clouds with daytime highs in the mid to upper teens.

By Sunday, Winnipeg is forecast to reach 20 C.
