Colleen Bready’s Forecast: Finally feeling like spring

Published:

Colleen Bready has your current conditions and updated weather forecast for April 4, 2025.

Cool, but sunny conditions will prevail over southern Manitoba on Friday afternoon.

Much like Thursday, Winnipeg, Brandon, and much of the south will see a mix of sun and cloud, with slightly cooler temperatures in the southwest than in the southeast.

Winnipeg is forecast to reach 3 C, well below the normal early April high temperature of 7 C.

Unlike yesterday, Brandon should see temperatures rise above freezing, if only just. The forecast high for the wheat city is 1 C. The normal high temperature for this time of year is closer to 8 C.

Further east, two cm of flurries are expected across northwestern Ontario with temperatures only reaching 0 C Friday afternoon.

A few flurries or rain showers could clip the southeast corner of Manitoba early in the afternoon, too.

A surface low plodding across northern Manitoba could spread light snow or flurries across the region today.

Temperatures will remain below normal this weekend in Winnipeg. A mix of sun and cloud is expected both days, but there is the chance of flurries passing through the city on Saturday afternoon.

Looking ahead, spring may have officially arrived in late March, but it will finally feel like it by the middle of next week.

Granted, the week starts off cool but sunny on Monday.

By Tuesday, sunshine continues with a nice jump in temperatures up above the seasonal norm of 7 C.

That’s just the primer for Wednesday and Thursday, when temperatures are forecast to reach 14 C and 12 C, respectively.

Perhaps a week late for spring breakers, but those temperatures will likely launch the start of patio season.
