Windsor’s St. Joseph Secondary School receives Teen Tech Grant

St. Joseph Secondary School in Windsor is amongst the recipients of Best Buy Canada’s first Teen Tech Grant.

The money will help improve access to technology.

“Access to technology is critical for today’s youth, yet many classrooms across Canada still face significant gaps in resources,” said Karen Arsenault, Best Buy Canada’s head of social impact.

“The grant applications were incredibly inspiring to read, as they were filled with the passion and dedication of educators working to make a difference in the area of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). For some students, this funding will create opportunities that level the playing field, and for others, it will open doors to dynamic and innovative learning experiences that can shape their futures.”

The full list of Teen Tech Grants are:

- St. Joseph Secondary School in Windsor, Ont.

- Windermere Secondary School in Vancouver, B.C.

- McNally High School in Edmonton, Alta

- Portage Collegiate Institute in Portage la Prairie, Man.

- Jarvis Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ont.

- Polyvalente Montignac in Lac Mégantic, Que.

- École Gabriel-Le Courtois in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Que.

- Prince of Wales Collegiate in St. John’s, N.L.

The grants include cash up to $10,000 to buy the latest technology supporting students’ needs.
