OPP arrest Woodstock man after driver flees scene of collision involving cyclist

A Woodstock driver is facing a criminal charge after a hit and run crash in Innerkip.

A Woodstock driver is facing a criminal charge after a hit and run crash in Innerkip sent a cyclist to hospital with life-threatening injuries last Thursday.

Oxford OPP says the crash happened on Blandford Street in Innerkip just before 11 p.m. on the night of April 17. OPP, along with Oxford EMS and East Zorra-Tavistock Fire Department responded to the collision.

Police say the driver fled the scene, heading south-bound, and turned onto a side-street.

On Saturday, police charged a 60-year-old Woodstock man with Failing to Remain at a Collision Causing Bodily Harm.

Oxford OPP Const. Matthew Foster says the crash remains under investigation, and police are appealing to the public for any information that could help.

“Investigators will be seeking anyone who has witnessed this, anyone who lives in the area or thinks they were in the area around that time, between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on April 17th, who have either dash-cam or video surveillance of any kind. As well as any other information that they think is relevant,” said Foster.
