Mounties on Vancouver Island are asking the public for help identifying the suspect in a mischief investigation.
The incident occurred on April 6, but West Shore RCMP made their appeal in a news release on Friday.
According to the detachment, a driver in a white 2022 Toyota Venza told police they were parked near the 1000 block of Goldstream Avenue in Langford around 4:30 p.m. on that date when a man in a dark blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck got out of his vehicle and kicked the back end of the Venza, causing damage.
“The suspect and complainant are not known to each other,” the news release reads. “Police are investigating this incident as mischief under $5,000 and seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect.”
Police described the suspect as a white man with light-brown hair and a medium build. In photos shared with the release, he is wearing a black baseball cap; a black hoodie with a red, checkerboard pattern down the right sleeve; black pants and black shoes.
Mounties also shared a photo of the suspect’s vehicle. They’re asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
