Mounties arrested one person after an hours-long incident in North Vancouver’s Deep Cove neighbourhood Saturday afternoon that drew a large police presence to a quiet street.
Around 3 p.m., the B.C. RCMP confirmed to CTV News police were telling residents in the 4600 block of Eastridge Road to stay inside, and warning the public to avoid the area.
Police declined to elaborate on the nature of the incident, during which several cruisers and a fire truck lined up on the street and officers were seen carrying rifles.
In a social media post just before 6 p.m., the North Vancouver RCMP said “the unfolding incident has been concluded safely” and that one person was taken into custody.
Further details about what happened have not been shared.
