A block of a busy street in New Westminster reopened Wednesday after a brief closure due to a gas line rupture.

Sixth Street was closed between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue around 11:30 a.m., according to the New Westminster Police Department.

The gas line was repaired and the road reopened roughly an hour later. .
