Mom inundated with misguided calls for Pizza Hut

North Vancouver, B.C., mom Jennifer Tremblay receives around four calls a day for pizza after Telus assigned her a phone number that used to belong to a Pizza Hut location.

A North Vancouver, B.C., mother says she's losing sleep because she shares her phone number with a former Pizza Hut location.

Jennifer Tremblay said since moving into her new home in October she's been receiving an average of three or four phone calls a day from people looking for pizza.

"More in evenings and more so on the weekends," she told CTV News.

She says the phone calls often wake up her one-year-old daughter.

Tremblay's phone number used to belong to a North Vancouver Pizza Hut. The 16th Avenue location is no longer in business, but when people who live in North Vancouver phone the general Pizza Hut number, Tremblay says people are automatically redirected to her number.

A simple internet search for Pizza Hut in North Vancouver reveals her telephone number and an address just blocks from her home.

The mother said Telus initially suggested she get a new number but she doesn't want to change it again.

"I just moved," she said. "My entire family has my new number."

She has called Pizza Hut's customer service line up to 20 times for help with little relief.

"I either don't hear back from the manager or the manager who does call me can't help me."

They did, however, send her a free pizza to compensate for her troubles after a drunk man called her seven times in a row - all after midnight.

CTV News contacted Telus on Tremblay's behalf. The company says it is committed to helping her find a solution to the problem.

Until the disruption ends, she hopes her daughter won't be interrupted by any more late night phone calls.
