For the third day in a row, BC Ferries has cancelled multiple sailing on a major route due to a mechanical issue with one of its vessels.

Eight sailings on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route were called off Wednesday as “engineering teams continue to investigate the issue,” according to a service notice from the company, which says the main engine is experiencing difficulty.

The following is a list of cancellations:

A ”supplemental vessel” has been added to the route to help alleviate the impact of the cancellations, and passengers with bookings on impacted sailings will be contacted by a customer service representative.

“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations,” the service notice says.
