One person was taken to hospital after a crash on Highway 1 in Chilliwack during the Monday afternoon rush hour.
Paramedics were called to the scene near the Yale Road overpass just after 4:30 p.m., according to B.C. Emergency Health Services.
“One ambulance with primary care paramedics and one ambulance with advanced care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” a spokesperson said in an email.
Only one vehicle was involved, according to police.
“A single vehicle left the road at highway speed and rolled over. The driver and lone occupant appears to have minor injuries. There were no overt indications of criminality at the initial scene, but the investigation into the cause is ongoing,” a spokesperson for the B.C. Highway Patrol said in an email.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour and a half while first responders were on scene.
