A “chop shop” operating at a rural address in Milton has been shut down for a third time, say police.
On Jan. 19, Halton Regional Police Service’s (HRPS) Organized Crime Unit (OCU) began an investigation after a stolen vehicle was found at Khan Traders at 4446 Trafalgar Rd., near Highway 407 and Sixth Line.
The vehicle had been reported stolen from Toronto in 2024 according to police.
A search warrant later revealed that Khan Traders was allegedly operating an active “chop shop,” they said.
Later that month, on Jan. 31, police say the OCU executed another search warrant at a residence in Brampton.
Twenty-six-year-old Haider Ameer Khan was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of possession of stolen property and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Police say Khan is a repeat offender and was on a release order for similar offences.
In July 2024, three individuals – including Khan – were arrested and charged after 12 stolen vehicles “in various stages of being disassembled” were discovered after a raid at the same address in Milton.
Police say 4446 Trafalgar Rd. has been the subject of three separate and similar investigations over the past 18 months.
