A 31-year-old woman is in critical condition after a vehicle she was driving crashed into a ditch in Bowmanville on Saturday.
Durham police said the single-vehicle collision occurred near Baseline Road East and Bennett Road at around 12:20 p.m.
When officers arrived, they located a black Jeep that had hit a hydro pole in a ditch.
The driver was found unconscious and was taken to a Toronto-area hospital by Ornge air ambulance.
Police said the motorist remains in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
Roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
