Police have released a photo of the 20-year-old man killed in a drive-by shooting in Toronto’s east end Sunday.
Abdullah Farah was fatally shot outside a café on in the area of Danforth and Coxwell avenues at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.
He was rushed to hospital without vital signs where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect’s vehicle has been described by police as a white, four-door sedan. It was last seen fleeing the scene heading eastbound on Danforth Avenue.
Det. Leslie Dunkley told reporters at the scene Sunday that the shooting appears to be targeted.
“What we know so far is Farah was standing in the company of several individuals on the sidewalk and we also want to speak to those individuals,” Dunkley said.
The victim was found on the sidewalk outside a Shisha café called Cloud 9. The address has been the scene of deadly violence in the past, including the fatal shooting of Abdiwli Mohamed Yusuf in May 2015.
