An ice cream truck burst into flames while driving in the eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401 in Scarborough.
The driver had to pull over near Markham Road at around 1 p.m., when the truck caught fire for an unknown reason.
Several lanes were closed as emergency crews battled the blaze for about an hour, but the highway has since reopened.
No one was injured as a result of the fire, but all of the ice cream melted and the truck was destroyed, Ontario Provincial Police confirmed.
