Nearly all of Toronto's outdoor pools will be opened this weekend, marking the start of summer swimming season in the city.
More than three dozen pools were opened on Friday, and will remain open until Sunday, Sept. 6.
Pools at Wedgewood Park, Westmount Park and Smythe Park will open Saturday. The Gihon Spring Park pool will open July 2, and the Flagstaff Park Outdoor Pool opens July 14.
The city opened 12 pools last weekend, but the pools were only open on weekdays and evenings. As of Friday, 52 pools are open, and will be open every day, weather permitting.
The city's 100 supervised wading pools also opened on June 26, and splash pads have been opened since earlier this month.
Drop-in swimming is free for all ages, but supervision is required for all children under 10.
More information on the pools, wading pools and splash pads is available online or by calling 311.
