TORONTO -- Donald Fehr says the NHL Players' Association will present an "alternative view" when it makes a collective bargaining pitch to the league on Tuesday.
The NHLPA's executive director was careful to point out that it wouldn't be a counter-proposal to the deal the NHL presented on July 13.
The union is expected to push for an expanded revenue sharing model and dramatic changes to the current salary cap system.
The pace of talks seems to be picking up.
Fehr said the tone of discussions has changed since last week, when commissioner Gary Bettman said the league would lock out its players if there isn't a new deal in place by Sept. 15.
