DETROIT -- Gustav Nyquist scored 1:41 into overtime and the Detroit Red Wings overcame a pair of two-goal deficits to beat the Nashville Predators 5-4 on Saturday night.
Shea Weber had a hat trick and put Nashville up 4-2 with his third score 8:03 into the third period.
Dylan Larkin scored for Detroit about a minute later, and then Justin Abdelkader tied it with a power-play goal with 2:23 left.
Brad Richards and Tomas Tatar scored the Red Wings' other goals. Nyquist, Larkin and Tatar also had an assist each.
SENATORS 3, ISLANDERS 2, OT
OTTAWA, Ontario -- Erik Karlsson scored in overtime to finish off Ottawa's comeback from two goals down in the third period.
Karlsson finished off a cross-ice pass from Bobby Ryan at 3:34 of the extra period after Mike Hoffman forced overtime with 37 seconds left in regulation.
Mark Stone also scored for the Senators, while Karlsson also had two assists. Craig Anderson made 29 saves.
Matt Martin and Josh Bailey gave the Islanders a 2-0 lead before Ottawa stormed back. Jaroslav Halak stopped 26 shots. New York snapped a four-game winning streak, but recorded a point for the seventh straight game (5-0-2).
BRUINS 4, CANUCKS 0
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Tukka Rask stopped 17 shots for his third shutout of the season and the 29th of his career to lead Boston.
Landon Ferraro had a goal and an assist, and Brad Marchand, Torey Krug and Tyler Randell also scored for the Bruins. Boston, coming off a 5-4 overtime loss at Calgary on Friday, was for the third time in four nights.
Rask, the backup to Tim Thomas when Boston beat Vancouver in the 2011 Stanley Cup final, picked up his first victory at Rogers Arena after giving up four goals in each of the Bruins' last two visits.
Jacob Markstrom finished with 18 stops for the Canucks, who have lost five straight and 13 of their last 16.
KINGS 5, PENGUINS 3
LOS ANGELES -- Jake Muzzin had a goal and two assists during Los Angeles' four-goal second period and the Kings won their third consecutive game.
Milan Lucic scored twice in the Kings' fifth straight home win. Drew Doughty and Christian Ehrhoff also scored for the first-place Kings.
Jonathan Quick made 17 saves to beat Pittsburgh for just the second time in his career, and the Kings scored five goals in a game for the first time this season.
Chris Kunitz had a goal and two assists for Pittsburgh, and the Penguins lost in regulation for just the second time in eight games. Sidney Crosby had a third-period goal and an assist, and Olli Maatta scored in his return from a six-game injury absence.
Two of the NHL's best defensive teams yielded six combined goals in a wild second period, with Muzzin matching his career high in points over a 10-minute span.
WILD 3, AVALANCHE 0
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Darcy Kuemper stopped all nine shots he faced in relief of injured Devan Dubnyk and Minnesota beat Colorado.
Dubnyk left a scoreless game with a lower-body injury midway through the second period after making 11 saves. Kuemper kept the shutout intact to earn his first win of the season.
Matt Dumba opened the scoring on a big slap shot with 6:33 left in the second period, then Justin Fontaine and Jason Pominville scored in the third.
Dubnyk sparked Minnesota to a playoff berth last year and is fourth among all goaltenders in minutes played this season.
Neither Wild goalie was challenged much. Minnesota controlled play and outshot Colorado 44-20, and Semyon Varlamov made a season-high 41 saves for the Avalanche.
JETS 2, CAPITALS 1, OT
WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Mark Scheifele scored with 20 seconds left in overtime to end Washington's season-high six-game winning streak.
Scheifele got his goal after Jacob Trouba cycled down low with the puck. Trouba passed to Scheifele in the left faceoff circle, and Scheifele fired by Braden Holtby glove side.
Jets rookie Connor Hellebuyck made 37 saves in his third NHL game to remain undefeated.
Captain Andrew Ladd scored on the power play for Winnipeg.
Nicklas Backstrom also scored with the man advantage for Washington.
HURRICANES 3, CANADIENS 2
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jeff Skinner's second goal of the game late in the third period lifted Carolina over Montreal.
Joakim Nordstrom also scored and Cam Ward stopped 36 shots for Carolina.
Daniel Carr and Sven Andrighetto had goals for Montreal, and Mike Condon finished with 26 saves. The Canadiens, currently the runaway leaders in the Eastern Conference, won all three meetings last season.
Skinner deflected Brett Pesce's shot into the net for a power-play goal with 7:32 remaining to break the 2-2 tie.
Nordstrom had tied it with 6:45 left in the second as he knocked in the rebound of Andrej Nestrasil's shot past Condon stick side.
BLUE JACKETS 4, FLYERS 1
PHILADELPHIA -- Nick Foligno scored twice, Scott Hartnell had a goal and two assists and Columbus beat Philadelphia.
Jack Johnson also scored for Columbus, which ended a three-game losing streak.
Philadelphia had won four in a row. Michael Raffl scored for the Flyers, and Steve Mason made 30 saves.
Both teams were playing for the second straight night.
MAPLE LEAFS 4, BLUES 1
ST. LOUIS -- Nazem Kadri scored twice and Roman Polak had two assists to lead Toronto past his former team.
Brad Boyes and P.A. Parenteau also scored for Toronto, which had lost two straight and five of six. Garret Sparks stopped 27 shots for his second career victory.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 15th goal of the season for St. Louis, while Jake Allen made 25 saves.
The Blues fell to 4-5-3 over their past 12 games after starting the season 11-3-1.
LIGHTNING 4, SHARKS 3
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Nikita Kucherov scored twice to lead Tampa Bay to its fifth win in seven games.
Erik Condra and Brian Boyle also scored for the Lightning. Ben Bishop, who stopped 24 of 26 shots en route to his fifth win in six starts, left the ice with 11:10 remaining to play after taking a stick to the face. Andrei Vasilevskiy saved six of eight shots he faced.
The win came a day after Lightning coach Jon Cooper signed a multi-year contract extension.
Matt Tennyson, Joel Ward and Brett Burns each scored a power-play goal for the Sharks, who continue to struggle at home. They've lost five of six and fell to 4-8 on their home ice. Alex Stalock finished with 16 saves.
