Canadians Bradette, St-Gelias and Boutin win short-track speedskating medals

ERZURUM, Turkey -- Canadians Kassandra Bradette, Marianne St-Gelias and Kim Boutin all claimed medals Saturday at a World Cup short-track speedskating competition.

Bradette, of St. Felicien, Que., finished second in a women's 1,000-metre event, posting a time of one minute 32.346 seconds. Britain's Elise Christie won the race in 1:31.513 while South Korean Shim Suk Hee was third in 1:32.659.

St-Gelias, of Roberval, Que., finished second in the women's 1,500-metre race, finishing in 2:28.913. Italy's Arianna Fonata was first in 2:28.590 while Boutin, of Sherbrooke, finished third in 2:28.997.

In the men's 1,000-metre event. Russian Semen Elistratov captured the gold medal in 1:25.237, just ahead of Sjinkie Knegt of The Netherlands, who finished in 1:25.247. South Korean Sin Da Woon was third in 1:25.423.
