OTTAWA - Certain McCormick Canada sesame seeds, blends recalled over Salmonella concerns
The public is being warned not to eat certain McCormick Canada sesame seeds and sesame blends with herbs because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The company says its Club House and One Step brand Lemon and Herbs seasoning sold in 134 gram packs, and Club House, Sysco and Trade East brand sesame seeds in 575 gram packs are affected.
The products have been distributed nationally, but no illnesses have been reported so far.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
In otherwise healthy people, salmonellosis may cause a high fever, severe headaches, vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea.
