If you spend any amount of time slicing up meats, cheeses, vegetables, or even bread for at-home use or for a business, you know that the right tool can make all the difference. If you’re looking for efficiency and precision in a tool, a handheld knife isn’t the way to go. You know what is, though?
An electric slicer! These tools all sit on a countertop and are super quick to use. You can adjust the thickness level depending on what you’re slicing, and some of them even offer multiple blades to suit the food type. With an electric slicer, your slicing will be efficient and won’t be tiring!
If an electric slicer sounds like a machine you’d like to own, we’re fully behind that decision! If you’ve never bought one before, though, it can be tough to know what you’re looking for. Electric slicers will vary in price, overall size, thickness range, blade type and size, and more! And we strongly encourage you to think about each feature before you buy. That’s how you’ll find the best fit.
This comprehensive guide will investigate the best electric slicers in Canada right now and outline the criteria you should consider while making your purchase decision. Let’s dive right into our top five products.
Top Pick: Beswood Premium Chromium-Plated Carbon Steel Electric Food Slicer
Alternative Top Pick: KitchenWare Station MS-10NT Electric Meat Slicer
Compact Pick: LEM Products 1240 Mighty Bite Belt-Driven Meat Slicer
Budget Pick: Ostba Electric Food Slicer
Alternative Budget Pick: Cusimax Electric Food Slicer
The Beswood Premium Chromium-Plated Carbon Steel Electric Food Slicer is a really impressive machine. Its unique chromium-plated blade provides a ton of extra durability and corrosion resistance, and since the machine itself is also incredibly well-made, this thing will easily last for decades if you take care of it.
With non-skid feet and a blade ring guard, this option also has safety covered. You won’t have to worry about it sliding around while you’re slicing. Your fingers will also be safe! Thank goodness. This machine has another great thing going for it as well — a large blade and a strong motor work together to make every slicing task a breeze! Throw in a low-noise and low-vibration belt, and you’ve got an awesome electric slicer on your hands.
Honestly, the only thing that we’d add to this electric slicer if we could is a serrated blade. It only comes with a smooth one, so if you prefer to cut meat from frozen instead of fresh, you might be out of luck. Otherwise, the only potential concern you might have is the price — this is a fairly expensive option, but you certainly will get your money’s worth.
All in all, the Beswood Premium Chromium-Plated Carbon Steel Electric Food Slicer has a lot to offer no matter what types of slicing tasks lay ahead of you. It’s certainly an investment, but it’s a worthwhile one if you’re going to get a ton of use out of it. It’s nearly unbeatable!
Performance: 5/5
Usability: 5/5
Price: 3.5/5
Quality: 5/5

It feels incredibly durable and they appreciate that it doesn’t move around on the counter at all. They’re excited to see how long the extra-durable blade lasts and are having a great time trying the machine out with different food types. It’s performed flawlessly so far.

The KitchenWare Station MS-10NT Electric Meat Slicer is an incredibly well-rounded machine. A powerful 320 W motor and smooth Teflon-coated blade make quick work of all kinds of slicing tasks from vegetables to fresh meat to blocks of cheese. And for folks who are slicing things often, the built-in blade sharpener will quickly become your best friend.
We’re also really happy with the ease of cleaning for this machine. The product tray comes off and the blade doesn’t stick to your food, so it won’t give you as much of a hassle as other slicers will. You’ll also appreciate the longevity of this option — every material has been chosen for its durability, so you can be confident that you’ll be using this machine for years.
One of the only improvements we could think to make to this machine is expanding the thickness range a bit. It’s limited to 0.4 inches, and we’d really prefer it extended up to 0.5 inches for folks who love a thicker slice. Aside from that minor disadvantage, the only thing that might sway you in a different direction is the price. It’s one of the most expensive options out there.
All in all, the KitchenWare Station MS-10NT Electric Meat Slicer is one of the best machines currently available. It was an easy addition to our top five this year. No matter what you plan to slice with it, it’ll have your back. And not just for now. For years.
Performance: 5/5

Price: 3/5
Quality: 5/5
Reviewers have amazing things to say about the KitchenWare Station MS-10NT Electric Meat Slicer. The Teflon-coated blade has no trouble cutting through any type of meat or cheese without sticking, and it’s effective on veggies and fruits, too. Cleaning doesn’t take too much time, either, and they’re really pleased that the product tray comes off. They’d all buy it again.
Buy If…
You want the fastest possible cleanup process
Your slicer will be working with a variety of food types
You’ll be using your electric slicer very regularly
Longevity is a priority
Don’t Buy If…
You prefer an extra-thick slice
You’re not looking to spend a lot of money
Dimensions: 20.1” x 18.5” x 15.5”

Motor Power: 320 W
Thickness Range: 0.4” maximum
We are pretty excited about the LEM Products 1240 Mighty Bite Belt-Driven Meat Slicer, and it won’t take long for us to tell you why. One of the first things you’ll notice is how great the price is, especially since it comes with two blades. That’s one of the benefits of such a compact size! If you’re quickly running out of counter space with your appliance collection, this machine will be a perfect fit. Literally.
We also really like how versatile the thickness range is on this one. Instead of capping out at 0.5 or even 0.4 inches like other machines, your slices can extend as far as 0.625 inches! And since it also comes with a serrated blade in addition to the smooth one, this thing is just perfect for homemade bread. The light weight makes this one easy to move around the kitchen when needed as well. How does it get better?
The only problem you’ll really notice with this machine is related to its efficiency. While it does a great job of slicing at the beginning, it does tend to heat up pretty quickly. If you’ll be doing more than 15 minutes of slicing at a time, the machine will need a break, and that won’t work for everybody. Just something to keep in mind.
All in all, the LEM Products 1240 Mighty Bite Belt-Driven Meat Slicer is our favourite space-saving electric slicer right now. Whether you love an extra-thin slice or an extra-thick one, this compact and dual-bladed slicer is the way to go.
Performance: 4.5/5
Usability: 5/5

Reviewers have mostly great things to say about the LEM Products 1240 Mighty Bite Belt-Driven Meat Slicer. They really like that it comes with a serrated blade for cutting bread and frozen meat, and the extra thickness options are perfect for bread as well. The compact size means it fits easily on every counter, too. The machine heats up pretty quickly, though.
Buy If…
A versatile thickness range would be nice
You’d love a slicer that includes a serrated blade, not just a smooth one
You need to conserve as much countertop space as possible
You’d prefer an affordable price tag
Don’t Buy If…
You’ll need to do a lot of slicing in one go
Dimensions: 11.75” x 10” x 17.1”
Weight: 13.4 lbs
Number of Blades: 2
Blade Type: Smooth and serrated
Blade Size: 8.5”
Motor Power: 200 W
Thickness Range: 0.625” maximum
We like so many features offered by the Ostba Electric Food Slicer. One of our favourites is the thickness range. This machine can cut slices as thick as 0.75 inches, so it’s absolutely perfect for bread and thicker cuts of meat. It does a great job at the thinner end, too, have no fear. You’ll also be incredibly happy with the price of this one. It’s not our budget pick for nothing.
Another great thing about this slicer is how easy it is to clean. The blade, food carriage, slide-rod extension, and food pusher all easily come off of the machine, and with the blade ring guard, the food spray is limited. We love that for you. The safety features are also on point with this one — a two-button start and reliable rubber feet make sure this machine is safe around kids and stays put during use.
Of course, as one of the most affordable electric slicers out there, this machine is not going to offer the same cutting power and volume output as more sophisticated options. The smaller 7.5-inch blade and lower-power 200 W motor make this an ideal slicer for light home use but not commercial settings. If you’re shopping for business purposes, you can do a lot better.
All in all, the Ostba Electric Food Slicer is the best one you’ll find at this price point. It might not be a powerhouse, but it still has a lot to offer in terms of versatility and ease of use. It’s a perfect countertop companion for casual slicers.
Performance: 4.5/5
Usability: 4.5/5
Price: 5/5

Reviewers have a good opinion of the Ostba Electric Food Slicer. The extra thickness settings make it perfect for cutting down cuts of meat or slicing bread, and all of the safety features make them feel confident leaving it out even with kids in the house. They have no complaints about the cleaning process, either — all the removable parts make it as easy as it could be.

Easy cleaning is a priority for you
You’re shopping on a tight budget
You’re safety conscious

There are lots of great things to say about the Cusimax Electric Food Slicer. Of course, one of the most obvious ones is how affordable it is — if you’re shopping on a budget, this one is a great choice. But it has more going for it than that. It also has the widest range of thickness options with a maximum setting of 0.9 inches. No matter what you want to slice, this machine can make it happen to your preferences.
It’s also a really portable option since it’s fairly compact and has one of the lightest builds you can find. It only weighs 9.3 pounds! It’s perfect for storing outside of the kitchen or enjoying at other people’s houses. You’ll also get to enjoy a ton of versatility since it comes with a serrated blade in addition to the smooth one. Slicing bread and frozen meat won’t be a challenge!
There are two reasons why this machine won’t be the right choice for everybody. First, it doesn’t have the most durable housing or food pusher (it’s plastic instead of metal), so if you're looking for a machine that’ll last decades, this isn’t the one. Also, its runtime is limited to roughly 10 minutes if you want to prevent it from overheating (and you definitely do). Something to keep in mind if you do a lot of slicing at once.
All in all, the Cusimax Electric Food Slicer was an easy choice to round out our selections for this year. It’s perfect for budgeted shoppers, and while it can’t compete with commercial-grade machines, it should be perfect for slicing tasks at home.
Performance: 4.5/5
Usability: 4.5/5
Price: 5/5
Quality: 4/5
Reviewers have positive things to say about the Cusimax Electric Food Slicer. It’s more durable than they expected for the price, and the range of slice thicknesses makes it perfect for bread, deli meat, jerky, vegetables, and anything else they can think of to cut. It’s quite easy to clean since the blade comes off, and the light weight makes it easy to move around when they need to free up some space.
Buy If…
You’d appreciate a slicer that comes with a smooth and serrated blade
A wide thickness range would be useful
You’d prefer not to spend much
Portability is important
Don’t Buy If…
Longevity is a priority
You need to do a lot of slicing in a single session
Dimensions: 11.8” x 9” x 10.2”

Blade Type: Smooth and serrated
Blade Size: 7.5”
Motor Power: 200 W
Thickness Range: 0.9” maximum
Warranty: 1.5 years
Some electric slicers only cost $200, while others can reach $1,000 or more. In general, more expensive electric slicers will be more durable, will have larger blades and more powerful motors, and will have blade sharpeners built into the machine for convenience.
Electric slicers can come with either serrated blades, smooth blades, or both. Serrated blades are mostly used for bread and frozen meat, whereas smooth blades are used for fresh meats, vegetables, and fruits, and can also be used for bread. If you want to maximize your freedom, you’ll want to choose a machine that comes with both types of blades.
Blade size is another important thing to consider when you look at electric slicers. For home use, a blade diameter between six and ten inches will be fine, but for commercial purposes, a blade between 12 and 14 inches is ideal. A general rule to follow is the bigger the blade, the better.
Different electric slicers will offer different thickness settings. At the low end, a slicer might cap out at a thickness of only 0.4 inches, whereas the most versatile machines will extend that thickness as far as 0.9 inches. A wider thickness range isn’t linked to a more expensive price, so you should be able to find your ideal fit at any price point.
The motor power of an electric slicer says a lot about how well your machine will perform under different circumstances. Lower-power machines around 200 W won’t be able to run for more than 10-12 minutes before overheating and needing a break, so if your machine will be dealing with a heavy workload, you’ll want at least 300 W or so.
Some of the higher-end electric slicers on the market will come with a built-in blade sharpener, and if you’re slicing in a commercial setting, you really don’t want to go without this feature. It’ll help keep your productivity up and the machine’s performance at its peak.
