Our Top Pick for The Best Treadmill

NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill Review

What We Think of the NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill

We are big fans of the NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill. One of the most innovative things it has to offer is an adjustable deck — you can select the right level of shock cushioning for your training needs, whether you want to mimic real pavement or need to give your joints an easier time of it. With one free month of iFIT included, you’ll get to enjoy simulated running environments and tons of programs, too.

Since this treadmill has a 0-10% incline range and 0-10 mph speed range, you won’t ever run out of ways to up the difficulty and challenge your body. If you’re looking to get incredibly fit and improve your heart health, this treadmill has everything you need. You won’t ever get bored, and you won’t ever outgrow your treadmill.

The only problem you might have with this treadmill is the price tag. It isn’t the most affordable option out there, so if you’re shopping on a tight budget, it might be a little bit out of reach. If you’re able to spend the extra though, you won’t find better overall value in any other treadmill. This one truly gives you the best bang for your buck, and that’s why it’s our top pick.

All in all, the NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill is our number-one favourite for this year. No matter what type of training you like to do or how you like to stay entertained while you do it, this treadmill has everything you need for a great workout every time.

Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7515 Premium Treadmill Review

What We Think of the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7515 Premium Treadmill

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7515 Premium Treadmill has a lot to offer, and we could not be more excited to introduce you to it. One of our favourite features by far is the double deck design. Say that three times fast. It might be a mouthful, but the double deck does wonders for the shock absorption potential — you’ll notice a real difference if you’re used to treadmill walking/running. Your joints will thank you.

This treadmill also offers quick select buttons for four different incline levels and four speed settings — if you have favourites, you won’t always have to scroll through the entire list. Hooray for quick changes. The built-in speakers and device holder guarantee you’ll be able to keep your favourite shows or music playing while you move. Throw in some transport wheels and a folding deck and you’ve got a perfectly well-rounded treadmill on your hands!

There are only two reasons why this option might not be a good fit for you, but luckily, none of them are related to performance. The deck on this treadmill is fairly narrow at 16.5 inches, so if you’re new to walking or running on a treadmill, a wider deck might be a safer option for you. Also, with a low weight capacity of only 240 lbs.

All in all, the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7515 Premium Treadmill will make a fantastic cardio companion no matter what type of training you prefer. It will be great for sprinting, lower-body work, endurance walking, and anything else you can dream up! It’s super user-friendly, too.

Our Budget Pick

Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill with Dual Display Review

What We Think of the Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill with Dual Display

The Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill with Dual Display is a great option. The vertical frame folds down so you can use this as an under-desk walking pad. You’ll even get a little remote to adjust the speed safely. When it’s in the upright position, it can be used by runners, too. It’s a pretty quiet treadmill, so you can work, listen to music, or watch TV without any annoying background whirring.

The Bluetooth speaker is one of our favourite features. It produces great sound and is easy to connect to no matter what device you’re using. If bulky control panels aren’t your thing, you’ll love this option—the top control panel is very narrow and displays your speed only. The rest of your fitness data is tracked on the bottom display instead.

Because of that design, you won’t be able to monitor your calories, time, or distance while you’re walking/running. There are a couple of other low points, too. The deck is really short, so people with a longer stride may not be able to walk confidently, let alone run. The handles also screw in (and aren’t adjustable), so you’ll need to remove them every time you fold the frame down.

  • Performance: 5/5

  • Usability: 4/5

  • Price: 5/5

  • Quality: 4.5/5

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill with Dual Display

Reviewers are enjoying their Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmills with Dual Display. Most people use it as a walking pad, but it is durable enough for runners too. The Bluetooth speaker is great quality, and it’s light enough to move around their house when they need to. It isn’t a great fit for serious walkers/runners, though. The speeds aren’t accurate and the fitness display isn’t really visible.

Goplus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill with Dual Display Pros and Cons

Buy If...

  • You want a treadmill that folds vertically and fits under furniture or works with a standing desk.

  • You prefer a minimalist touchscreen to quickly adjust speed.

  • You like having a spot for your phone, a remote, and a built-in Bluetooth speaker for music or podcasts.

  • You need something quiet for early mornings or shared spaces.

  • You’re planning on light walking or jogging while multitasking.

Don't Buy If...

  • You want to track your fitness stats easily—the display is on the bottom and hard to see mid-workout.

  • You need a spacious running deck for longer strides or faster paces.

  • You don’t want the hassle of removing the handles every time you fold it.

Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill Review

What We Think of the Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill

The Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill has a lot of distinctive features. The first thing that caught our eye was the control panel—instead of the usual buttons and small LCD display, this thing has a massive touchscreen. It fits the sleek look of this treadmill perfectly. It also has a Bluetooth speaker and phone holder to keep you entertained while you walk, jog, or run.

The shock-absorbing running belt is our favourite feature. It’ll help keep your joints happy (knees especially!) and prevent shin splints. This option is also incredibly easy to set up by yourself. It’s pretty light and doesn’t require any assembly. Yes, you read that right. Just slip it out of the box and set the frame upright.

All of these great features are paired with a few downsides, unfortunately. The running belt is pretty short, so people with a longer stride may feel like they’re moving quickly just to stay upright. You’ll need to become an expert at oiling to keep the noise at bay, and the touchscreen buttons are not very easy to press when you’re in motion. Unless you have ultra-steady hands. The handles also don’t come straight out from the display area, so you won’t be able to use them for balance.

  • Performance: 4.5/5

  • Usability: 4/5

  • Price: 5/5

  • Quality: 4.5/5

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill

Reviewers have mixed feelings about the Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill. Some people adjusted quickly to the shorter deck, but folks with a longer stride have trouble feeling completely safe on it. They also have a love-hate relationship with the display—they love how sleek it looks, but it can be tricky to use while they’re walking/running. They all agree that the best thing about it is the assembly-free design.

Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill Pros and Cons

Buy If...

  • You want something ready to go right out of the box—no assembly needed.

  • You’re looking for joint protection: the shock-absorbing belt reduces impact.

  • You like having all your workout stats—time, speed, steps, distance, and calories—on a full touchscreen display.

  • You enjoy music or podcasts while working out, thanks to the Bluetooth speaker and phone holder.

Don't Buy If...

  • You prefer handles that extend forward for stability—the ones here curve up toward the display.

  • You need responsive controls on the go—the touchscreen buttons can be tricky mid-workout.

  • You have a longer stride or want roomier space—the deck might feel short.

  • You don’t want to deal with frequent maintenance—the treadmill needs regular oiling, and it’s not the easiest task.

Goplus 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill Specifications

  • Dimensions: 55.9” x 30.5” x 49.5”

  • Running Deck Size: 16.5” x 43.3”

Xterra Fitness TR150 Treadmill Review

What We Think of the Xterra Fitness TR150 Treadmill

The Xterra Fitness TR150 Treadmill has a lot of great things going for it. The controls for speed, start/stop, and the programs are all really easy to find and press. The display area also has multiple accessory holders and a book rack/device holder to keep your essentials handy.

There are two things that we especially love about this treadmill. The pulse grips on the handlebars let you monitor your pulse while you exercise (you’ll know when your exercise is effective and when to step it up!), which is a great addition. The deck also folds up easily so you can open up some extra floor space when you aren’t using it.

There are only a couple of minor low points that we want to share with you. The first one is about the display. It tracks your speed, distance, calories burned, and a few other things, which is great, but it can be pretty hard to read in dim lighting, which is not so great. The second thing is the incline levels—it has three, but you need to adjust the deck height manually, and there isn’t a dramatic change even at the highest option.

  • Performance: 4.5/5

  • Usability: 4.5/5

  • Price: 5/5

  • Quality: 4.5/5

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Xterra Fitness TR150 Treadmill

The preset exercise programs are beginner-friendly, and it’s much easier to manage than most other treadmills since it’s lighter and smaller. The folding deck is a big hit, too.

Xterra Fitness TR150 Treadmill Pros and Cons

  • You prefer simple, intuitive controls—this one’s very user-friendly.

Don't Buy If...

How to Properly Choose Your Treadmill

Price

The price of a treadmill will range from less than $500 to more than $2,000. In general, more expensive ones will have better motors, more incline settings, a larger deck, and app compatibility.

Programs

Many treadmills will have built-in exercise programs to add variety to your workouts. Some are perfect for walkers, others for runners, so it’s a good thing to investigate before you buy. The best treadmills will offer programs through apps like Peloton as well.

Number of Speed and Incline Levels

The speed and incline levels on a treadmill are the main factors affecting its versatility. Affordable treadmills may offer incline levels, but they will be few in number and won’t go very high. You’ll also likely have to adjust the deck height manually. More expensive treadmills will offer more options and will automate the adjustments. Speeds can range from a maximum of 9 mph to 12mph.

Running Deck Size

In most cases, larger running decks will always be better. If they are too short or narrow, it is easy to hit the frame or side runners and end up tripping or falling. We suggest a minimum of 15” x 45” for comfort and safety.
