With the night sky as their inky canvas, a Toronto-based startup is creating dazzling light displays.

Programmed to fly in perfect formation, Arrowonics’ fleet of drones can make everything from familiar shapes to company logos in an array of pulsating colours.

“The sky is really the limit – pardon the pun – and basically whatever you can dream up, we can do it in the sky," Arrowonics’ Everett Findlay told CTV News.

The entire system can be run by a single operator with a laptop.

“We developed special technology so that those drones will communicate with each other, and they make sure that they don't collide,” Arrowonics’ founder and executive director, Hugh Liu, added.
