Saskatoon police and fire department are on the scene following an industrial building collapse in the Evergreen Neighbourhood.
At 1:40 p.m. Saskatoon Police, Fire Department, and ambulance responded to a call from the building in the 100 Block of Horner Crescent, which was under construction.
A 52-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were seriously injured and transferred to hospital, Medavie Health Services West said.
Initial information was that concrete slabs were being installed for flooring when it collapsed five storeys, according to the fire department.
Upon arrival, fire crews were advised that all construction personnel were accounted for but needing rescue from upper storeys.
A firefighter-paramedic was tied off and put into position to rescue a person on the roof. At 2:38 p.m., the person was rescued from the roof.
One fire engine, one ladder truck, one rescue unit, and the Battalion Chief were dispatched to the incident, SFD said.
