Power outage problems

Published:

A semi truck knocked over a power pole Friday morning, knocking out power for much of eastern Saskatoon.

Power outages have plagued parts of Saskatoon over the last 16 hours.

In total, four outages have been reported. The latest was the result of a truck knocking over a power pole near Superstore on 8th street Friday morning. Crews restored the power by approximately 10:00 a.m.

Thursday night power was out in parts of eastern Saskatoon after lightning struck a transformer. Another outage was caused by a bird flying into a power line, and another was the result of a tree blowing into a power line.

The city said none of the outages were directly related, and power is back on in all areas.
