QUEBEC - For the third time in two years, vehicles belonging to the family of Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume have been vandalized.
His press attache says three cars -- the mayor's, his wife's, and one belonging to his children -- were damaged while the family was away on vacation.
It's the third time that vehicles belonging to the Labeaume family were vandalized. The last incidents took place in June and July of 2008.
The mayor's children found the damaged vehicles, which were parked in front of the family residence, when they returned home during the weekend.
City hall spokesman Paul-Christian Nolin says the vandals appeared to use a key to scrape the sides of the vehicles, from bumper to bumper.
The letters "L-A-B" were also scratched into the paint, presumably a reference to Labeaume.
The wildly popular mayor was easily re-elected last year.
Labeaume, who is vacationing in France, has been informed of the damage but will not comment.
