Chicago-based Kolcraft Enterprises Inc., is voluntarily recalling 425,000 infant playpens after a 10-month-old boy was strangled to death in the U.S.

The child was inside the "Sesame Beginnings Travel Play Yard" when he became tangled in a looped restraint strap on the elevated changing table, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is reporting.

The "Sesame Beginnings" model is the only playpen sold in Canada included in the recall. No Canadian deaths have been reported.  The model number, printed on a white sticker located on the bottom of the play yard, is 76361-VT.

Kolcraft spokesperson Diane Steed told The Associated Press that the changing tables come equipped with warnings.

"We would stress to parents again: `Do not put your child in the play yard when the changing table is on top,'" Steed said.

The company is recommending parents cut off the dangling strap immediately and contact Kolcraft for a free playpen with no looped strap.
