Two men are facing charges after a late-night trip to a drive-thru in Carleton Place in a vehicle with a homemade licence plate ended in the discovery of 23 grams of cocaine and a replica firearm, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Officers responded to a call for a disturbance at the unnamed restaurant at 12:45 a.m. Thursday.
“A vehicle was found to have a homemade cardboard licence plate attached,” OPP said.
“A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 23 grams of suspected cocaine, 37 pills of suspected MDMA, a replica firearm and drug-related paraphernalia.”
A 42-year-old man from Kingston is facing charges of using an altered licence plate, failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance. A 30-year-old from Ottawa is facing two counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
