Ontario Provincial Police are renewing calls for any tips or information that would help them solve a 20-year-old cold case.
Bernice Billings was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Inglis Street in Barry’s Bay, west of Ottawa, on Feb. 5, 2005. She was 78 years old. The crash happened some time between 8:05 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. that night.
“Officers from the former Killaloe Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, other detachments and the Renfrew County OPP Crime Unit have followed up on multiple tips and leads over the years, but none have resulted in finding the person responsible,” the OPP said in a news release Tuesday.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP detachment is now conducting the investigation into this case.
Investigators want to hear from anyone with information who has not yet spoken with police.
