Weather warnings for Ottawa ended Thursday morning after a few hours of freezing rain overnight.
Environment Canada observed freezing rain at the Ottawa Airport between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. before temperatures rose above the freezing mark.
Light rain continued to fall in the morning, but the special weather statement warning of significant rainfall also ended, with the forecast calling for up to 15 millimetres at the most.
The forecast for Ottawa calls for an unseasonably warm high of 16 C Thursday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a 40 per cent chance of showers early this afternoon.
Overnight, the temperature should dip just below freezing to a low of -1 C with clouds and wind gusts up to 50 km/h.
Friday’s forecast is sunny with a high of 11 C.
Saturday is looking cloudy with a periods of rain and a high of 8 C. Sunday could also see a few showers.
Eastern Ontario
A rainfall warning remained in effect for the Kingston and Belleville areas Thursday morning, but it has since ended.
Environment Canada said the area could see heavy rain at times, with total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm.
A special weather statement about the rain for areas such as Brockville, Cornwall and Smiths Falls has also ended after being in effect Thursday morning.
