Rising water levels
Water levels and flows are “gradually increasing” along the Ottawa River, according to the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board.
“Levels and flows will continue to increase over the next few days due to rain expected to start next Thursday and increased spring runoff,” the board said. “Minor flood levels may be exceeded in flood prone areas along the river between Lake Coulonge and Carillon starting Saturday.”
The minor flood level is defined as some streets, lawns and parks beginning to flood, but “no or few” houses and buildings affected, according to the board.
The Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a flood watch for the Ottawa River between Pembroke and Britannia Beach.
