OC Transpo says Lyon Station has reopened after it was briefly closed Monday evening.

Trains were running on Line 1, but did not stop at Lyon, one of the three downtown tunnel stations, starting at around 6:20 p.m.

OC Transpo spokesperson Katrina Camposarconne-Stubbs told CTV News Ottawa there was an active fire alarm at Lyon Station, which prompted OC Transpo to stop the train that was in the station at the time and have passengers evacuate.

She said Ottawa Fire Services was called in to investigate why the fire alarm went off. Trains continued to run through the tunnel during the time Lyon was closed.

Lyon Station reopened and normal service resumed at around 6:40 p.m.

This comes after passengers experienced delays in the morning commute because of a switch issue at Tremblay Station to the east of downtown. It was the third issue on the O-Train in Ottawa’s east end in the past week.
