Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help identifying suspects and a vehicle in a dramatic abduction case in Findlay Creek.
According to police, the incident happened at around 2 a.m. Feb. 9. The victim was driving to his Findlay Creek home and noticed an SUV following him. When he got home and got out of his car, three men allegedly confronted him and forced him into a white SUV at gunpoint. Police say the man was then taken to an unknown location, assaulted for several hours, and dropped off elsewhere in the Findlay Creek area.
He was later treated in hospital for serious injuries.
Police are looking for three men, described as follows:
Suspect #1 – Middle Eastern man, 5-foot-9 (175 cm) tall, 180 lbs. (83 kg), with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black clothing,
Suspect #2 – Middle Eastern man, 6-feet (183 cm) tall, 250 lbs. (113 kg), with a heavy build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Suspect #3 – Black man, 5-foot-8 (173 cm) tall, 150 lbs. (68 kg), with a thin build.
An Ottawa police spokesperson said it was too soon to say whether the incident was targeted.
“All investigative avenues are being explored,” police said in an email.
