Ontario Provincial Police are looking to speak to a boy and his parents after the boy was hit by a car and ran away from the scene last week.

Police said the incident happened at around 2:25 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in the area of Lake Avenue and Prince Street in Carleton Place.

The driver was turning right from Prince Street onto Lake Avenue and hit the boy, who was in the intersection, OPP said in an email. The boy apparently said he was fine and ran away. The child had already left by the time police arrived.

Investigators are hoping to speak to him to confirm whether he was hurt.

The child is described as approximately 12 years old, with long brown hair. He was wearing glasses and a bright yellow sweater.

If you have information, police are asking you to call 1-888-310-1122 and reference incident #E250224349.
