Ontario Provincial Police say a 24-year-old Lanark County man has been arrested following several reported incidents in Mississippi Mills and Smiths Falls.

Arrest warrants were issued for Dylan Greene, 24, of Lanark County. Charges include break and enter, mischief, possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm, as well as several probation-related and Highway Traffic Act charges.

OPP said Greene was arrested Monday.

The charges relate to previous incidents reported in eastern Ontario.

Police say an individual broke into a home in Mississippi Mills at around 1 a.m. April 17 and allegedly destroyed property before driving away in a black Nissan Versa that police said in a news release had “either stolen or no plates attached.”

Officers saw the vehicle at a gas station in Smiths Falls and attempted to block the driver in. The driver is alleged to have deliberately crashed into a cruiser before fleeing.

Police say their investigation found the same suspect was involved in an incident on April 15 in Mississippi Mills during which several people were assaulted.

Police believe the incidents were targeted and said there is no risk to public safety.
