Meteorologists have lifted a severe thunderstorm warning issued earlier in the afternoon after a strong storm moved through the Barrhaven area. Environment Canada issued a yellow warning – severe thunderstorm shortly after 4:45 p.m. advising of possible damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees. The advisory was lifted about 30 minutes later. The weather remained partly cloudy in downtown Ottawa. Ottawa forecast Environment Canada’s forecast calls says it will be mainly cloudy tonight with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm. Low 18 C. Tuesday will be mainly cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of showers. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm. High 24 C. Wednesday will see mainly cloudy conditions with a chance of showers. High 25 C. The outlook for Thursday calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers. High 26 C. Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High 28 C. The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 27 C and a low of 16 C. August weather Temperatures in the month of August are expected to be near normal in Ottawa, according to Environment Canada. The monthly forecast calls for temperatures to be around normal to below normal over the next four weeks.
