Friend’s car impounded after driver caught going 180 km/h near Prescott, Ont.: OPP

A driver in eastern Ontario will be having a tough conversation with a friend after being charged with stunt driving.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said Thursday the driver was stopped approaching Prescott, Ont. on Highway 401, allegedly going 180 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

“Driver had borrowed a friend’s car... and that vehicle is now impounded for 14 days,” the OPP said on social media.

A stunt driving charge also comes with an automatic 30-day licence suspension.

“Speeds such as this puts everyone else at risk, including the two passengers they were carrying at the time,” OPP said.
