Cold temperatures return to Ottawa, with the wind chill making it feel like -17 today

Cold temperatures return to Ottawa today, with the wind chill expected to make it feel like -17 this afternoon.

Ottawa received a break from the cold temperatures on Monday as snow blanketed the region, with a high of -0.5 C in the afternoon. A total of 4.8 cm of snow was recorded at the Ottawa Airport, while 7 cm was recorded in Gatineau.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Temperature steady near -7 C, with the wind chill near -17.

Partly cloudy tonight. Low -19 C.

Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High -9 C.

Environment Canada says temperatures will warm up to 1 C on Thursday, with more snow in the forecast.

Temperatures will drop back to -16 C Thursday night.

A mix of sun and cloud on Friday with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -5 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -5 C and a low of -14 C.
