Toronto suspects charged, guns and $200K in drugs seized following major bust in Sudbury

A man & a woman from Toronto, both 33, are facing 43 charges following a joint investigation by Ontario Provincial Police & the Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Working together, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Greater Sudbury Police Service have seized numerous handguns, $200,000 in drugs and about $100,000 in cash.

A man and a woman from the Greater Toronto Area have been charged with 43 offences following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking in Sudbury, Manitoulin Island, Parry Sound and other communities.

The investigation by the OPP’s organized crime unit began in October 2024. That effort culminated in a traffic stop Jan. 8 in Sudbury by multiple OPP units and Sudbury police, including the canine unit.

The two suspects were arrested, leading to police execute two search warrants at a residence and storage locker, both in Toronto.

The search uncovered the cash, firearms and ammunition, body armour, drug packaging materials and $200,000 of drugs believed to be 850 grams of crystal meth, 750 grams of fentanyl, 73 grams of cocaine and 500 grams of meth.

The suspects, both aged 33, face a total of 43 charges for drug trafficking and weapons offences.

The male suspect was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Feb. 13.

The female suspect was released with a court date of Feb. 19, also in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury.
