Ongoing investigation in Sturgeon Falls, Ont., RCMP confirms

RCMP, OPP and multiple other police agencies have converged on a Sturgeon Falls insulation company since June 18.

While few details are available, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday they are in Sturgeon Falls for an ongoing investigation.

In an email to CTV News, the RCMP said officers from the central region have been in the area since June 18.

“This remains an active investigation, and officers are expected to continue working at the scene for the next several days,” the email said.

“While work at the scene is ongoing, there is no indication of any immediate risk to the surrounding community.”

The Mounties said the work is a partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police, with support from York Regional Police, Niagara Regional Police Service and the Ontario Fire Marshal.

“Due to the complexity of the investigation and ongoing operational activity, further details are not available at this time,” the email said.

“A media release with full details is forthcoming and we would be happy to provide that release to you directly when it becomes available.”
