Northern Ontario woman wins $100,000 in lottery

From the newest northern Ontario lottery winners, a Sudbury couple celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary to a dog dressed up for Valentine's Day.

A northern Ontario woman won $100,000 playing the lottery in December.

Katy Hager of Kenora in northwestern Ontario matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order to win, lottery officials said in a news release Wednesday.

Her prize was a part of the Ontario 49 draw on Dec. 21.

Hager bought her winning ticket at the Husky gas station on Chipman Street in Kenora.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has a resource called Play Smart with all the information players need to “make smart choices and keep the fun in the game.”

It also has information on problem gambling, including warning signs, how to help a loved one and where to get free support.
