Jermaine Wilson joined the CTV News national digital team in October 2024, writing both broadcast and digital stories. He is a generalist but has a particular interest in covering breaking news, sports, and Canadian/U.S. politics.

He’s written a wide range of stories, from concise explainers to in-depth features examining trends such as the rise of filming in gyms. His work reflects a commitment to engaging storytelling, whether through written word or video.

Before joining CTV News, Jermaine worked with leading Canadian outlets, including the Toronto Star, the National Post, the Globe and Mail, and Yahoo News. Throughout his career, he has seamlessly navigated roles in writing and video production, often spending time in the field conducting interviews and reporting live from the scene.

Jermaine holds a degree in journalism from the University of Toronto and a graduate certificate in contemporary journalism from Centennial College. After graduating, he received a scholarship to attend the investigative reporters and editors conference in Orlando, Fla. and was selected by the Google News Initiative to represent emerging journalism at the 2022 CJF Awards.

When he’s not working, Jermaine enjoys travelling, hiking, exercising, and a good true crime documentary. He also freelances for small businesses, helping them develop branding and content strategies.

He speaks English.
