Kevin Gallagher joined CTV NATIONAL NEWS as a Parliamentary Correspondent in September 2016. Gallagher reports on Parliament Hill and the surrounding federal political landscape from CTV News’ Ottawa bureau.
A native of Toronto, Gallagher began his on-air reporting career at CTV Montreal in 2011 as a general assignment reporter and video journalist covering local news, crime, and sports. He was one of the first journalists to report from the scene of the 2013 Lac-Megantic tragedy.
Gallagher was also a radio newscaster and reporter for CJAD 800 News in Montréal from 2012 to 2016. Previously, he interned for TSN’s OFF THE RECORD.
Prior to his career in journalism, Gallagher competed in ice dancing at national and international levels and provided live commentary and analysis of the 2010 World Figure Skating Championships on CBC Bold.
Gallagher is an alumnus of York University’s Glendon College, with a Specialized Honours BA in International Studies, and holds a Graduate Diploma of Journalism from Concordia University.
He is fluent in both English and French, and enjoys playing golf, skiing, and cooking in his spare time
