A 32-year-old man is in hospital after a stabbing early Tuesday morning in Montreal’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 1:45 a.m. about the incident on Cadillac Street between Hochelaga Street and Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue. When officers arrived on site, they located the man with injuries to the upper body. “The victim was conscious and breathing when emergency vehicles arrived,” said Jeanne Drouin, a spokesperson with Montreal police. He was transported to hospital, and his condition is considered not life-threatening. Soon after, officers located a suspicious-looking vehicle at the corner of Hochelaga and Dickson streets. “Two individuals, a man aged 34 and a woman aged 32, were spotted and arrested not far from the intersection,” Drouin said. “According to the initial information received, the individuals involved are all known to each other, but the exact link should be determined by the investigation.” Two security perimeters have been set up to allow investigators to canvass the areas.
