A vehicle is considered a “total loss” after being engulfed in flames late Tuesday night in Montreal.

Emergency services received a call at 11 p.m. about a parked vehicle on fire on Jarry Street near Claveau Street in the Anjou borough.

The fire was brought under control by firefighters, but Montreal police (SPVM) says the vehicle was heavily damaged.

“The burned car was towed away for expert examination, and the investigation is ongoing,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police.

Police say an incendiary device was not found at the scene, but an investigation was still launched due to the nature of the incident.
